Time for my new weekly (maybey) "What happened to Elder Mulks this week?"...thing

Well, starting from last Wed., we have been doing a lot of tracting (going door-to-door and talking to people) and follow-ups (going back to people's homes to teach them). The new investigator that we found prior to this week (so my first week out), was not home, so we couldn't teach him. We went and taught some of our other investigators though, so it wasn't a total loss. Right now we're teaching a guy who just lost his wife a few years ago, and is interested in the gospel; a couple who seem interested, but one doesn't think that baptism is 'required' to enter the kingdom of God (which it is-John 3:5); another couple that is a part-member family and the wife is trying to get her husband to join, but he drives a semi, so he's not very easy to get ahold of; every once in awhile we go and talk with a man who has been excommunicated TWICE, dude's a genius, he just has a problem living the commandments; and we teach a guy who does auto-body work, and is building a garage where he can paint (Derick, you would have so much in common with this guy!.

The guy who's wife passed away we set with a baptismal date on thurs. for the 21st of Nov. And there's a girl who has been waiting a YEAR to get baptized because her grandparents wouldn't let her, but guess what? They gave her permission!! So, we're baptizing her on the 1st of Nov.

I had what is called my "click" day on Fri. Every month, on the date that you entered the MTC, has a "click" day. I'm at the 1 month already! My companion just hit his 11 month "click" yesterday (mon.).

Twice a week we go and give service at a rehab center for old people, called Blue Ridge (not River Ridge). Oh, here's an interesting fact, the missionary that I replaced, no one liked. He was super smart, but had no, I mean NO, common sense. So the day that I got transferred here, the meal calendar was booked for 3 weeks (the meal calendar is where members can sign-up to feed the missionaries)!

But anyways, Thurs. through Sat., we had no success. We had hit rock bottom. But on Sun., we had a follow-up and we have 2 new investigators!! YEY!!! I'm sooooooo happy! And finally, on Mon., we had splits (where 2 members sign up to go with the missionaries to appointments) with Bro. McHone, our branch mission leader and Bro. Poland. They are both the coolest people! The Polands are the BEST cooks; Sis. Poland is from an Amish family. She's a big lady too, but it's because she had an accident when she was younger.

Oh...my...gosh...she is a living miracle! She got into a car accident where the engine went through the drivers compartment. It took her face off, split her brain in half, broke every bone in her body, her legs were through the floor of the car and embedded in the asphalt...they basically had to reconstruct her. She had to re-learn EVERYTHING. But she is so smart and she makes food to rival mom's (sorry!).
